About Me

Hi! My name is Alicia Munro, I am 29 years of age and I am a four year trained, Early Child Care and Primary Education teacher. My life’s passion and given gift is to educate, care for, nurture, love and help raise children in what ever setting that may take me.

I completed both my Bachelor Degree’s in Education at the University of Wollongong (2001-2004) immediately after finishing my HSC at Presbyterian Ladies Collage Sydney.

Since a very young age I discovered I had a gift with children, helping raise my two younger brothers and ten cousins. I have been blessed with bountiful energy, creativity and an expansive imagination that enables me to capture the interest and hearts of the children that I have taught and cared for. I have had over ten years of experience now working in various settings from babysitting, Nanning, live in Nanny, pre- school teacher, tutor and Primary teacher, all of which I greatly enjoyed!

For me, working with children has taught me as much as I have taught them. A child will never judge you for who you are, they will look at you with adoring eyes and give you their whole heart. Through a child’s eyes, I am blessed to see the world anew every day and the excitement and curiosity of the discoveries they are making. For a child, it is the moment and the now that matters, enjoying the small things which to them are brand new wonders. To me, these are some of the most precious gifts a person can receive and this is what drives my passion for childcare!

As an educator and carer, some of my strengths are patience, open mindedness, understanding, giving, quality time, creativity and vibrancy. Even as an adult today my mother tell me to, “sit down and relax”, I feel as though I have as much energy as the children do, which has enabled me to keep up with them all these years. One very special family that I worked for, the two children use to ask their parents if I was a “kid or an adult”! Then, when I had my birthday with them that year, one of the children exclaimed that now I was, “a BIG kid”! I am still very close friends with this family today, and so fortunate to maintain the bonds with them that we began many years ago!
